I have a nine month old, full blooded Redbone Coonhound, who I recently got spayed. I wanted a puppy for her to baby. The previous week I had adopted a beagle mix puppy from the VHS. I was still looking for a hound. Saw Pattie, now renamed Diva Darlin, and saw the opportunity to have my own pack. My Coonhound is named Daisy Doodle and the beagle is Dolly Deuce. They have all bonded well and travel in and out of the house as a pack. I obviously have to get up early to let both young pups out to do their business, and when I do they get private play time with me. After about 30 minutes, they are ready to go back into their kennel until a few hours later when I get up for the day. At that time I get Dolly and Diva outside, then go get Daisy, who is in a much larger kennel. She immediately goes to the pups kennel to look for them and then she is out the door to round them up to play and run. Dolly and Diva haven't had all their shots so they were not able to go on the evening walks that I take Daisy on. Once they are current on their shots I will be working on walking them on a leash. Took the pups to the vet and Diva has giardia, so all are being treated even though Dolly didn't show that in her stool. I love my pack and look forward to raising all three to maybe be able to go to nursing homes and daycares. Thanks, Rescue Me!

I posted my homeless Redbone Coonhound on Rescue Me and Daisy went to her new forever home with a very nice young couple. I am very appreciative of the interest that was shown for her. I would recommend using this website should you ever find you need to re-home a pet or find a homeless one roaming in your neighborhood. Thank you very much for your support.

Sadie showed up on a the porch and didn't want to leave. After having her checked by our vet and no CHIP was found, we made repeated attempts to find her owner. Our vet is fantastic and the sad truth was that he felt someone 'threw her out' because she wasn't performing. We tried to give her a forever home but with two other dogs, both rescues, and six other rescue cats, it was just a little more than we felt we could handle. Thankfully, we found Rescue Me and started getting interest. The first individual was in California, but we couldn't just put her on a plane and not see what happened. The second individual turned out to be awesome and Sadie bonded almost immediately with Winston the other dog of the individual that rescued Sadie. Sadie is missed but knowing that she is in a loving forever home it's okay.

We tried every avenue to find this boy's owners. We found a great home through Rescue Me. This family lost their last Redbone last winter to old age and were just waiting until the right dog came along for them. Well, we all met up this morning and he is on his way to his new home! I couldn't be happier. This is our 749th successful adoption here at the Canine Connection! YEAH!

Otis was looking for a family who would be home most of the day, with plenty of people to love him, as well as a large backyard in which he could stretch his legs. He found that. He and his new family are very glad they found each other. Thank you, Rescue Me!

I spotted sweet, beautiful April in a local high kill shelter and kept watching and hoping someone would save her and get her out before her time was up. No one was taking her. She watched as all the other dogs around her were being rescued or adopted and some put to sleep. I really had no room for another dog at home. Then she became listed as urgent with her time ending the next morning. I decided I had to somehow make room for her and keep her until I could have her spayed and vetted, then find her a wonderful, new, forever home. We kept her inside, leashed trained her, potty trained her and taught her a few basic commands while searching for her home. For several months, I tried posting her on Facebook and a few other websites, I asked friends and family and also contacted several rescues and had no potential leads of a good home for this sweet girl. Then, someone mentioned Rescue Me! I am so glad they did! I posted her and within a day or so, she had several very good potential adopters that were very interested in her. I had to sort through many emails and phone calls and got to pick where I thought would be the best match and home for my April as well as for what the adopter was looking for. This couple (which did have great references) had just recently lost a Redbone they had for many years, to cancer. They came across my post for April and had to meet her. I think it was love at first sight! She is now living a life of luxury in her new home, on their couches, chairs and bed, visits to the family farm on the weekends, being spoiled rotten and loved very much! Thank you, Rescue Me, for making this possible for her!

Using Rescue Me's Redbone Coonhound Blog, I found Red at the Animal Control Shelter. We drove over and picked her up today. Everything went very smoothly - great communication between Animal Control and the vet. She seems to be settling in fine. She has already explored the fenced in yard, introduced herself to my two other smaller dogs, and is now snoozing in the living room in what will likely become her 'spot'. I will blog again in a week or so with pictures and more news. Thank you.

We saw Hank's photo and reached out to Love Mutts Rescue who had him from a shelter. We met him with our other rescue dog and they hit it off immediately. He has fit in as well as we could have hoped - is a lovely, sweet dog and will be a great addition to our household. Thank you, Rescue Me, for making us aware of Hank and his need.

Thanks to Rescue Me three of these puppies found loving forever homes instead of going to our county animal shelter, a kill shelter and often overcrowded. I am so pleased with knowing these puppies will have loving forever homes. All of the puppies were placed in loving homes. I would like to personally thank everyone who assisted with their placements.

Our darling Baskerville found a wonderful new family and great home. We were determined to do everything we could to find the perfect place for our little man and we are incredibly grateful for the service Rescue Me provided. He won the doggy lottery! We have formed a bond with the new family and can see through pictures and video's what an amazing time Bass is having exploring the great outdoors - far better than being cramped in a small apartment. We couldn't be happier! Thank you everyone and we wish the same success for all the adorable and deserving Redbones.

Juno has found a wonderful new home through Rescue Me alongside another Redbone sister and, best of all, a pair of humans who really know and love Coonhounds! She has landed in the country with room to explore, scents to follow, and a warm bed to return home to on evenings. Do I miss her? Yes. Am I happy for her? Absolutely! Thank you for providing this much needed, heartfelt website, Jeff.

Kentucky has a new forever home! Thank you to all the wonderful families who inquired (and there were a lot!!) She now has 11 acres to romp around on and a new friend and fellow Redbone, Red! So grateful to have Rescue Me to post to so that we could find a great family for her. We were so worried about what would have happened once we moved!!

Our dog Maya was rescued by the most wonderful person. She has moved many miles away from us but we are keeping in touch and the transition for her couldn't have been any better. She is adjusting to her new family and we talk often to help make the adjustment for them and her better in any way we can. She is loved and they have the time to play with her and take her to the dog park often and go for walks and chase tennis balls. I am forever grateful to Recue Me for helping us make this connection which will be a win win for both of our families. We plan on staying in contact and I feel much better knowing that they love her just as much if not more than we did. Thank you for making this happen and providing this avenue to find dogs a great home where Redbone's are understood and they have the patience and energy to have them in their families.

My husband (our pets' daddy) was killed in a motorcycle accident. At first, I had the best of intentions for taking care of our dogs, but it soon became clear that it was all I could do to take care of myself and our three and a half year old daughter. As I will be leaving the state by the end of the year and am not exactly sure of what my living situation will be at first, I knew it wouldn't be fair to my dogs to add that stress to them. They were used to a very physical lifestyle. My husband used to take them out for runs/walks several times a day and they just aren't getting that from me. Most days it's all I can do to take my daughter to daycare, pick her up, and check the mail. I want my dogs to have a loving, wonderful home - what they used to have here. I found Rescue Me via Google and put Cody up on the adoption page. Within about five hours, I had my first email - and after meeting with Cody's new mommy today, I can't thank you enough. He liked the family so much he tried to jump in their truck to go home with them! That's what I call a successful adoption story!

Copper is going to Oklahoma to live with a family with 6 children, 2 dogs, and lots of room to run! Bless You!

Hi Jeff, I grew up with having dogs since I was seven years old. I was hesitant, at first, to use Rescue Me! as I have never had to put any of my 'kids' up for adoption before. I needed to know that my kids would be okay, and taken care of by loving guardians. I had to move and knew I could not take my two beloved hounds with me. I received an e-mail from someone who was interested in Hunter and had the opportunity to meet with him and his wife. I felt comfortable enough to know that Hunter would be cared for and loved. What a relief! I keep in contact with Hunter's new parents and I have received pictures of Hunter that make me smile and warm my heart. I am very happy with the results that your site has provided. In Ginger's case, her new parents have a few canines, so she is not bored by any means. I have received pictures of Ginger, also, and I know that she is in good hands. If it were not for you, Jeff, and Rescue Me!, I don't know what would have become of my 'kids'. I cannot thank you enough for caring for families on both sides of these situations! Always thankful, Marcial Bolina

Copper is a great looking hound. He was surrendered for doing what many outside dogs would do, he chased cats. He had no manners due to lack of training. It took some time, but he became eager to please. He had another strike against him, he was heartworm positive. And at the rescue he stayed... other adoption requests did not happen. Then, shortly after being posted on the Rescue Me! site, he was seen, and a meet and greet arranged. Copper was finally wanted, by a man that wanted a hound dog. He has acreage with cows, horses, chickens, and the dreaded cats. Copper is a changed pup as he now just looks at the cats, and visits with the horses and cows. The other day, the new people called me to tell me that Copper now rides around on a golf cart and has chickens laying eggs in his dog house!

We left our home at five o'clock and got back after midnight. So we had a good distance to go to pick up this pup. We picked up Murphy, late Sunday and headed back home. At first he was a little nervous, but settled down after we stopped for a bathroom break. We had a doggie pillow in the back that he laid on. Murphy has a new brother and sister at home, both rescues and loving members of our family. He waited to meet the two other buddies Monday morning after breakfast. He didn't have any trouble with the female but the other male wasn't so sure that he wanted another dog. Today they are running around like old friends. He has a nice sunny big yard to roam around in that is totally fenced with an extra dog lot in case someone needs to open the gate which has a lock on it. He feels secure and happy. Thanks to his foster Mom who took great care that nothing happened to any of these pups.

Red was adopted! I contacted over 20 rescues in the area but it was my listing on Rescue Me! that connected him with his new owner. A woman in my vicinity was specifically looking for a redbone coonhound and had a third party search for one via the Internet, as she herself wasn't very computer savvy. Imagine her surprise when she was told there was a redbone available, and in her own county! I checked with the woman today and all is going well. Thanks so much! I can't tell you how much I appreciate your assistance in finding Red a new home. :-) Diane Goodwin

One stormy afternoon while Hurricane Isaac was hitting the coast of Louisiana, a Redbone Coonhound mama dog, wandered under my porch and had 7 puppies. My daughter and I rescued them from the flooding rain water and safely tucked them away in my closed in patio. Well, for the next 12 weeks we fostered this mama dog 'MOLLY' and her puppies. Thanks to Rescue Me! the puppies and Molly were all placed in good homes from Philadelphia, to Tennessee, Florida and here in Louisiana... We appreciate all the efforts and donations that made Rescue Me! a successful place for us to help Molly and her puppies. Sincerely, Carmen Knight and Family

Red had been at our city shelter for a while until his future adopter saw him on Rescue Me and decided to foster him for a while. He now has the run of a farm and occasionally comes back into town to stay with his extended family.

Millie, a 3 year-old red tick hound/black mouth cur mix is now home with her new owners. Originally meant to work cattle on a 57,000 acre ranch, she really wanted to be a pet. Her new owners seemed to fall in love with her sweet disposition, and took her home to play on their acreage with their two other hounds. Enjoy rabbit chasing with your new buddies, Millie!      Yes, Rescue Me was the reason the Redbone went to a forever home on July 4th. He wandered into our yard and then into hearts, we had him for 2 weeks and then success. The family called 5 hrs later and said he passed the cat test and was doing good. Thanks, Gail

We miss Toby and her rambunctious zest for life, but have comfort in knowing she is getting the love and attention and exercise she deserves. Thanks so much! Jaelyn Higgins

Dear Mr. Gold- I adopted 'Baxter' several days ago, and he is doing very well. He is an absolute treasure with a wonderful personality all his own. The 'RescueMe' website was a tremendous help in my search for another dachshund. The site is very easy to use and understand. The info is of great help in starting a dialogue with the present owners, and being able to map it, also helped us in determining approximately how far we had to drive. Thank you so much for creating such a helpful and needed website. It is very much appreciated. Sincerely, Annette
