Rescue Me ID: 16-04-05-00493'Jane Dog' (female)

Redbone Coonhound    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Fearful/Anxious

We found this sweet, submissive, mellow girl injured after a bad thunderstorm a week ago (that later led to a small tornado in a nearby town). She is getting along great with our little Maltese and doesn't harass our 3 cats. She just found her voice this weekend, but she is apparently just mostly quiet. We cannot keep her due to us traveling, but we couldn't leave her suffering like she was! We have paid over $600 for this stray after searching for her family, but to no avail. The only issue we have found is she sometimes has accidents of the urine kind, but only on carpet and I believe she would do very well with crate training (we can't ... (Read More)afford to buy a big expensive crate when we aren't keeping her. She really is a sweaty and I don't think she has a mean bone in her! She just needs a kind owner. She has also been great with my kids and I think would make a great family pet. I am only asking for a fraction back to help out with all of her medical expenses. She's healing very well and is on antibiotics & pain meds. She is a bit fearful of traffic; as we believe she was hit by a car with some pretty deep soft tissue damage, but no broken bones. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-11-14-00283Eddie (male)

Redbone Coonhound    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Eddie is a healthy, active 3-year-old Red Bone Hound that my son rescued as a puppy when he found him wandering in a cemetery. Our vet believes him to be purebred but, of course, can't be sure. He has a had a happy life until recently when my son changed jobs and moved into a very restricted space, resulting in two unhappy dogs that can no longer co-exist. Eddie needs loving attention and space to run. He has spent his life mainly among adults and has had limited contact with children. He has shown no indications of problems with children.

Rescue Me ID: 14-01-07-00450Highway Homer (male)

Redbone Coonhound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Homer was found running down a local highway. He was thin & on a mission, probably trying to go back to the home where he was no longer wanted. Their loss. Homer (must be his real name, because he responds when he is called that) is very mellow for his apparent age. He's very smart for a hound type, & very affectionate, due most likely to Doxie genes. He is quite vocal, as hounds usually are. Please understand Homer is a Doxie MIX, not a full blood/registered. He weighs about 35 lbs. His legs are a little longer than a full blood Doxie. Please see his attached video for size comparison to a 110 lb. Labrador Retriever. He'd make an excellent ... (Read More)companion for children or a retired couple. He's crated trained, responds well to treats & kindness, & is ok on a leash. He's been wormed, is on HW preventative, has current 3 yr. rabies vaccination & is micro-chipped. Email for application. Adopted within 75 mi. only. (Less)
