Animal ID: 1177Hammerhead (male)

Redbone Coonhound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered

Hey there, I'm Hammerhead! I'm a two year old Redbone Coonhound/ Labrador Retriever mix. Despite my name, I'm anything but stubborn. I am very willing to please and just an all around fun guy. For the first few years of my life, I was tied up on a chain. Now, for the first time, I am not. I am very appreciative, becasue I know what it's like to be an unlucky pup! Because I have always been chained, I need to practice walking on a leash, but I'm a quick learner! I'm very good natured and am an all around goofball. I love human attention, and will sit down when you start petting me! I'm a medium energy boy, and would make a fantastic family ... (Read More)dog. With my giant paws, floppy ears, and sad eyes, I'm a real looker, too (Less)

Animal ID: 1178Grunt (female)

Redbone Coonhound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed

Hi there, I'm Grunt! I'm a two year old Redbone Coonhound/ Labrador Retriever mix. I love human attention and gentle petting. I pull up my lips in a doggy smile when I am happy, much to the delight of all the shelter staff and volunteers. I also make giggling/grunting noises when I get excited, hence my name. For this reason, and because I am so sweet and easygoing, I am a shelter favorite! I am a very gentle girl who would make a fantastic family dog because of my pleasant personality. It's a wonder I'm such a sweet dog at all because of my past. I was chained up for the first few years of my life, along with my brother Hammerhead. Because ... (Read More)of this, I am not used to walking on a leash, and can be a bit timid when walked on one. When I have one-on-one time with a human, however, my true colors shine through. I don't hesitate for a minute to crawl in close to you, and my tail never stops wagging! I love to give kisses, and will roll over onto my back for a good belly rub. I have been told that I'm quite a gorgeous girl, and I have to agree. My rust red coat, long floppy ears, and big soulful eyes make me irresistibly adorable. A sweet girl like me deserves a wonderful home, and I'm just waiting for my special someone to come along and adopt me. Will it be you? (Less)

Animal ID: 935Teddy (male)

Redbone Coonhound    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Needs to be Neutered

This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only.  Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. Hey, my name is Teddy! I'm an eight month old Redbone Coonhound. I am a handsome boy with the classic Redbone look: long, floppy ears, long, lanky legs and a gorgeous red coat. I can only be taken by a rescue because I am very afraid. I need to learn to trust people again. Not much is known about my former life, but the way I shy away from people suggests that I was probably not treated too kindly. It seems that I am food motivated, and I thoroughly enjoy my treats. I am a wonderful dog who deserves a second chance, but I just can't be adopted out yet. That's why I'm hoping and praying for a rescue to take me. I am now considered ... (Read More)urgent because me and my brother Andy (who also needs a rescue)have been at the shelter for a very long time. The shelter is kindly looking for a rescue for me. I am still very afraid and all the loud barking dogs at the shelter don't help. Please save a life and pull me or my brother (or both of us!) It is heartbreaking that we are so skittish, but we are still very young. With a little TLC, we can learn to trust again. (Less)

Redbone Coonhound    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

LUCY had been rescued after being chained to a box outdoors for 3yrs. She had a litter of pups and her owner asked Howlin4Spirit's help placing her 6 pups. When we went to get the pups, we saw her sad life and asked her owner if we could take Mom, too. 'SURE! I don't hunt no more, so I don't want her. Take her!' Well, it turns out that Lucy was heart worm positive. She is 2/3 through her slow-method heart worm treatment(should test negative at the end of June-H4S will provide all meds to get her healthy, again). Redbone Coonhound    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Brandy is one of the happiest souls that you will ever meet. She absolutely loves everyone she meets - human and animal. Brandy came to us from one of our clients who had to surrender her due to several members of the family facing very serious illnesses. It broke their hearts to give her up so no judging please! Brandy has adjusted well here at the clinic but we know that she certainly wants to get back into a home environment. Brandy is probably a mix of some type of hound and possibly beagle. While some people might think of this type of mix as an outdoor dog, Brandy is most definitely an indoor girl. She can go outside in a fenced ... (Read More)in yard or on a leash but then it is back indoors for this girl! Brandy is about 3 %BD years old and currently weighs 45 pounds. Her adoption fee is $150. If you are interested in Brandy please fill out an adoption application through our website at www.tysorvet.net. You can access the application under the adoption tab. (Less)

He'll follow you around the house eager to be your best friend and will take all the love you can give him and then demand more, lots more. Dougie would do best with female dogs, or submissive males.
