    Redbone Coonhound Rescue Information: The Redbone Coonhound is an energetic, medium-sized hunting dog. Redbone Coonhounds are wonderful family pets. This breed has a pleasant temperament and is good with children. Redbones can adapt to many different living situations as long as they have plenty of vigorous exercise and human attention.

    Redbone Coonhound Trivia: Two Redbone Coonhounds are featured in the book, Where the Red Fern Grows. Redbones are adept at chasing animals up trees. Early Redbones were known as Saddlebacks. Redbone Coonhounds are most often used for hunting raccoons. Redbone Coonhounds are descended from dogs belonging to George Birdsong of Georgia.
