Redbone Coonhound Mix    Age: Young Adult

'JoJo was a hound who thought he was a loner ... But he knew it couldn't last ...'. Or at least he hoped it wouldn't last! JoJo is an amazing two year old hound mix who acts more like a puppy! Foster mom says whoever named him must have been thinking Joie de Vivre because his joy of living is contagious. JoJo is in a foster home without cats or kids. He is very sweet and loving. He is SO affectionate, that he wraps his front legs around his humans in a hug and tries to climb up to give kisses. JoJo gives LOTS of kisses. For that reason, Foster Mom doesn't recommend a home with small children. JoJo loves to run and play with his many ... (Read More)foster fursiblings. Sometimes he is so busy playing that he forgets to potty outside. He is paper trained, which foster mom learned when he followed her into the puppy room. JoJo is food motivated and is already learning to sit which is a milestone for wiggler like him. He quivers with excitement, but he does sit. JoJo REALLY loves his foster humans. So much so, that he can't bear to be separated from them unless it's to play outside. He loves ear scratches and belly rubs. What he doesn't like is his crate. JoJo loves his humans so much, that being in his crate makes him very anxious. He drools A LOT. Sometimes to the point of vomiting. He is working really hard to overcome his anxiety. JoJo is looking for a patient, loving home. He would like a least one other fursibling to play with and a fenced yard. JoJo can only get even more awesome with training and activities to keep him focused. Meanwhile, he's ready to 'get back to where he wants to belong'. Is that with you? (Less)

Redbone Coonhound    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

He is about 3 years old, neutered male, redbone coonhound. He is current on all vaccines, all bloodwork is current, heartworm negative, fecal/intestinal parasite negative, he is on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. He came from a home where the owner was threatening to shoot him bc he barked too much... He is very timid (as he has had not much socialization), but wouldn't ever bite a soul. He just cowers and tucks his tail. He is house broken, but, pulls on walks (needs the use of a gentle leader), He could use a little bit of training. But, overall, he's a really good dog. Just, work on his socialization (which I've been trying while at ... (Read More)our vet office. If you are interested in adopting Red Dog please go to bassetrofk.org and submit an application.
